PURPOSE OF POSITION As part of Destination BC’s Destination Management Division, the Manager, Destination & Industry Development leads destination and industry development planning and programming across the province. The role works with internal teams and external partners, including the Province, First Nations, Indigenous Tourism Association of BC, communities, businesses, destination management organizations, tourism sectors and other industry partners, to support BC’s long-term competitiveness as a destination of choice. This position provides strategic leadership, builds and maintains strong working relationships, and helps align destination and industry development work with Destination BC’s broader corporate strategy, branding and marketing efforts. The Manager also supports planning, resource management, negotiation and issue resolution to help deliver results for the Destination Management Division. As a people leader, this role also supports and develops staff so program and corporate goals are achieved.
