About The Position

At Fablelistik Editions, we are bookmakers, book lovers, and believers in the enduring power of book collectibles to inspire, challenge, and transform. Every title we produce is crafted with intention—from concept to final binding—with a deep respect for the story at its heart. Our team channels this philosophy into every project, creating stunning books that are not only read but experienced. We're looking for an experienced, concept-driven Manager, Design & Marketing to join our team. This role is for someone who’s passionate about bold, high-impact design and the specialty book market. This newly created position will be an extremely collaborative role, working closely with several different divisions. Reporting to the Art Director, the ideal candidate has a passion for books and experience designing for digital, social, and print applications.

Requirements

Experience designing for digital, social, and print applications
A strong portfolio demonstrating a versatile range of marketing assets for the book industry, including product styling/lighting
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact effectively across internal teams
Detail-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational, problem-solving and prioritization skills
2+ years of marketing design in trade publishing or DTC e-commerce agency experience, with a focus on video-first design
Experience working with clients or external partners

Nice To Haves

Experience with Figma, After Effects, Premiere Pro and video editing software.
Knowledge of book design/production is a plus
Digital illustration experience is a plus
Knowledge of Airtable is a plus
Motion graphics or video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere Pro)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic design or another related field, or equivalent work experience preferred

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with our marketing team to design digital ads, newsletter/email templates, and promotional graphics.
Maintain, evolve, and enforce brand guidelines, ensuring visual consistency across all customer touchpoints.
Stage and photograph materials for promotional graphics and our website using prototypes and finished copies.
Design engaging organic content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), including static graphics, motion design, and video overlays.
Produce high-quality print materials when needed, such as merchandise and packaging.
Work alongside editorial, marketing, and the art department to brainstorm creative concepts and bring them from ideation to execution.
Organize and maintain the team's digital asset library, ensuring templates and design files are easily accessible and up to date.
Brainstorm and collaborate with all stakeholders on decisions related to the look and feel of a product (e.g. illustration style, typography choices, layout, covers, icons, infographics, etc.)
Make design corrections, mockups, or typesetting changes, if needed.
Maintain promotional powerpoint decks and internal database.
Design shipper boxes and packaging, preparing these files to a print-ready standard.
