About The Position

The Manager, Data Analytics leads the development and implementation of sourcing strategies by analyzing operational needs and delivering customized reporting solutions. This role partners with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data management, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics application. The manager drives data-driven decision-making by presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders, supporting business objectives through statistical modeling and investigative analytics. Additionally, this position fosters continuous improvement, mentors team members, and collaborates across departments to enhance reporting technologies and business intelligence capabilities. The Sourcing Solutions team sits at the core of the Sourcing and Procurement organization, designing and executing sourcing events, turning complex data into trusted insights that power smarter, faster decisions for the Sourcing Manager to help provide the best value and quality for our Walmart customers and Sam’s Members! This role partners closely with cross functional teams including Sourcing, Procurement, Merchandising, Finance, and Product Development to embed analytics into everyday workflows. Your work will elevate how the organization uses data, setting standards for insight quality, storytelling, and impact to our customers/members.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills; experience translating data into actionable intelligence.
  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive outcomes through collaboration, partnership, and stakeholder alignment
  • Data and tech savvy, experience in Coupa CSO with AI/ML knowledge in business context and experience pulling, manipulating, and interpreting complex datasets
  • Background in engineering, statistics, computational science, or related quantitative field.
  • Experience in management consulting, Sourcing & Procurement, supply chain, or business strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years’ experience conducting mathematical or statistical research, analysis and modeling intelligence, corporate security, or related area OR 4 years’ experience conducting mathematical or statistical research, analysis and modeling intelligence, corporate security, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sourcing, Procurement, Finance, and Merchandising to support Sourcing and Procurement strategies by executing bid events, e‑auctions, cost change analyses, and related analytics
  • Deliver complex, high‑visibility analytics projects that support strategic decision‑making and align to key business priorities
  • Develop and present executive‑ready insights and visual storytelling that drive action and accountability
  • Identify data trends, risks, and opportunities through advanced analysis, communicating recommendations to different stakeholder groups using modern data visualization tools (Power Bi, AI-enable dashboards)
  • Manage multiple projects across categories, ensuring delivery within scope, quality, timelines while driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Share learnings across team to strengthen analytical and storytelling capabilities
