About The Position

The Sort Capacity Manager owns network-wide capacity de-risking for the Sort organization. The role builds and maintains a constraint model that defines de-risked capacity across first-party and third-party facilities, including dock-door availability, floor and pallet-position space, maximum throughput, and optimal labor and automation. The manager maintains capacity data, optimizes zip-code-to-facility assignments, ensures devices and consumables are ready for site growth, evaluates hub-to-spoke routing opportunities, addresses forecasting-product gaps, and manages merchant launch capacity allocation. The position is expected to be filled by December 26, 2026.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in supply chain, network strategy, or operations.
  • Direct experience owning capacity planning or site launch strategy at scale.
  • Experience building and owning a capacity, forecasting, or network constraint model used as a standing input to planning.
  • Ability to independently identify bottlenecks across a large, multi-site network.
  • Experience negotiating trade-off recommendations with senior cross-functional stakeholders, such as Network Design, Real Estate, and Finance, and influencing capital-adjacent decisions.
  • Deep understanding of physical warehouse operations and the ability to translate dock, floor, throughput, and labor constraints into a unified model.
  • Ability to communicate trade-offs and risks clearly and concisely to senior leadership and exercise judgment about what to escalate versus resolve independently.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a network-wide model of facility capacity constraints, including truck cadence and dock-door availability, staging space, automation and manual sortation throughput, package mix, cross-dock versus sort operations, and labor hours.
  • Maintain spoke capacity data in the sort application, ensure it reflects current facility configurations, and hold cross-functional partners accountable for data accuracy.
  • Own zip-code-to-facility mapping and re-optimize assignments as volume and rates change, balancing service-level and cost trade-offs.
  • Forecast scanners, bins, and gaylords against site growth and manage the readiness cadence to avoid reactive procurement.
  • Assess hub-sort-to-spoke direct-routing opportunities, build business cases, and present recommendations to Network Design and Real Estate.
  • Identify forecasting-tool gaps that fail to reflect actual capacity and drive fixes with Data and Product partners.
  • Own Mx launches end to end, including allocating CET by merchant priority and negotiating trade-offs among competing merchant demands.
  • Provide 3-, 6-, and 12-month visibility into projected capacity constraints.
  • Deliver proactive site launch recommendations and optimize CET assignment for high-priority Mx launches.
