A little bit about our team: The WMG Global Sync – US department represents recorded music sync rights and offers clients a comprehensive sync licensing service in the US as part of a global sync organization. The team works to serve Warner Music Group's extensive catalog as well as the company's frontline recorded music labels and their global partners by strategically developing new opportunities in film, TV, advertising, video games, and new media. Your role: The Manager, Creative (Trailers & Promos) will work with clients to secure WMG sound recordings in trailers and promos in order to bring in licensing revenue and promote artists to the benefit of the overall company, including other marketing opportunities related to sync. This role will work and coordinate with the clearance team as well as all Frontline Labels, International Affiliates, and WMG’s vast catalog.

Requirements

  • Possess wide knowledge of popular music, both catalog and frontline
  • Experience pitching to trailers and promos
  • Strong understanding of rights and fees in the trailer and promo space
  • Familiar with current trends in trailers and promos
  • Strong pre-established relationships with music supervisors, coordinators, trailer houses, film and streaming studios and television networks
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities and styles
  • Able to work in an extremely fast-paced work environment, leaning on strong multitasking skills, excellent time management, and high attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can identify gaps and create opportunities
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant creative experience in trailers and promos
  • Experience working in Clearance
  • Knowledge in Google Workspace, Box, & Disco

Responsibilities

  • Proactively pitch and respond to specific briefs from music supervisors, trailer houses and film studios with the goal of placing recordings from artists and labels within WMG trailers, and promos
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with music supervisors, trailer houses and studio marketing executives
  • Effectively communicated trends in trailers and promos giving WMG artists, managers and labels a competitive advantage
  • Work with trailer remixers, WMG labels, artists and managers to have approved trailerized versions of recordings created and marketed
  • Perform research of the Company’s rights and clear copyright provisions
  • Make suggestions for use of alternate songs in the Company’s catalog when clearance is not available for the original request
  • Develop and implement innovative programs and strategies to increase awareness of our artists and songs as it pertains to trailers and promos
  • Work with artist managers and publishers to ensure placement opportunities
