About The Position

The Manager, Creative Marketing will help develop and execute distinctive creative campaigns for our slate of independent films across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases. Working closely with the Director of Creative Marketing, this role will help shape how films are positioned and brought to audiences from the first campaign idea through trailers, key art, digital AV, social content, and theatrical materials. We’re looking for a highly creative, film-obsessed marketer with exceptional taste, strong instincts, and an appetite for ideas. The ideal candidate understands what makes a trailer work, what makes an image stop someone mid-scroll, and how a singular creative idea can become a campaign that gets people talking. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants meaningful creative ownership, thrives on collaboration, and can move seamlessly between big-picture thinking and the details required to bring great work into the world.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in film or entertainment marketing, ideally with meaningful experience developing creative campaigns for theatrical releases.
  • Exceptional creative taste and strong film instincts, with an ability to recognize compelling ideas and articulate what makes creative work succeed—or what could make it better.
  • Hands-on experience developing trailers, teasers, key art, AV, digital, and/or social creative, with an understanding of how those elements work together to tell a cohesive campaign story.
  • A genuine passion for film and the art of marketing movies, along with curiosity about audiences, culture, creators, and the changing ways people discover entertainment.
  • The ability to contribute original campaign ideas and translate strategic thinking into clear creative briefs, presentations, and actionable direction.
  • Confidence giving thoughtful creative feedback and collaborating with editors, designers, agencies, filmmakers, and other creative partners.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain the thinking behind an idea clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience managing multiple creative projects, external partners, budgets, deadlines, and approval processes simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
  • A collaborative, low-ego working style and the ability to build strong relationships across creative and business teams.
  • Passionate about film, storytelling, and theatrical marketing; collaborative, resourceful, curious, and eager to grow as a creative leader.
  • Resourcefulness, curiosity, and the confidence to question the expected approach when there may be a more interesting one.
  • The judgment to know when to push an idea further, when to simplify, and when to move quickly to get great work into the world.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and project management tools such as Airtable or Asana.
  • Passionate about film, storytelling, and theatrical marketing; collaborative, resourceful, curious, and eager to grow as a creative leader.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop the creative idea and campaign approach for assigned films, identifying what makes each title distinctive and how to translate that into marketing that connects with audiences.
  • Partner closely with the Senior Director, Film Marketing & Creative Strategy to develop campaign concepts, positioning, creative briefs, and strategies across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases.
  • Drive the day-to-day creative development of trailers, teasers, key art, digital AV, social content, and theatrical marketing materials, managing work from initial brief through final delivery.
  • Bring ideas to the table. Participate actively in creative brainstorms and identify unexpected, culturally relevant ways to build awareness, conversation, and excitement around our films.
  • Write sharp, compelling creative briefs and presentations that clearly articulate the campaign idea, audience opportunity, creative direction, and rationale behind the work.
  • Develop a strong point of view on creative work-in-progress and partner with the Sr. Director to give thoughtful, actionable feedback to editors, designers, agencies, and other creative partners.
  • Help prepare creative work for presentations to filmmakers, talent, and senior leadership, incorporating feedback while protecting the core idea and integrity of the campaign.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with creative agencies, editors, designers, freelancers, and other external partners, helping inspire their strongest work while keeping projects on strategy, budget, and schedule.
  • Partner with Digital and Social teams to identify platform-native creative opportunities and help evolve campaign assets based on audience behavior, cultural conversation, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Publicity, Distribution, Post-Production, International, Production, and other cross-functional teams to build cohesive campaigns and proactively solve challenges.
  • Stay deeply engaged with film, entertainment, culture, creators, social platforms, and emerging creative trends, bringing relevant ideas and inspiration back to the team.
  • Manage multiple concurrent theatrical campaigns with strong judgment and attention to detail, maintaining clear timelines, budgets, approvals, and asset workflows without losing sight of the creative ambition behind the work.
