Mohave College is seeking a dynamic and visionary Manager of Cosmetology Programs to lead the launch and growth of an exciting new cosmetology program located in a brand-new facility adjacent to our Beale Street Campus. As Manager, you will play a key role in guiding program operations, supporting students and instructors, building industry partnerships, and helping create a hands-on learning environment that reflects current industry standards and trends. Requirements

  • Unencumbered license as a Cosmetologist.
  • At least two (2) years as a Cosmetologist (hair, nails, or skin).
  • Works effectively while not losing sight of quality standards. Takes personal responsibility for his own mistakes or those of the department. Takes responsibility for own behavior and the related results. Communicates clearly to stakeholders when deadlines and agreements cannot be fulfilled.

  • Uses resourcefulness to tap as-yet-unknown sources.   • Monitors expenditures and resources to ensure spending is within allotments, or makes appropriate modifications. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, revision, and assessment of curricula, including course objectives, instructional methods, learning outcomes, projects, and assessment measures.
  • Manage special projects as formally assigned by the Dean Health and Public Services (including, but not limited to new student orientation programs and open houses, assistance with programmatic accreditation preparation, campus events).
  • Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
  • Assist students with academic advice, and mentor instructors on effective academic counseling techniques as needed.
  • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
  • Have knowledge in the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology certification process.
  • Represent the Health and public Services division on college wide committees.
  • Make budget recommendations to the Dean Health and Public Services.
  • Supervise faculty.
  • Prepare reports for state and federal agencies as necessary.
  • Carry out departmental functions and participate in professional meetings and events.
  • Provide positive leadership and direction to faculty.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of faculty/staff.
  • Oversee student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Completer faculty evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill specified obligations as a faculty member, if necessary.
  • Travel to off campus sites as necessary.
  • Attend all college faculty meetings and required staff development sessions.
  • Collaborate with the program advisory committees and maintain positive communications within the career field.
  • Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
