About The Position

Douglas J is a pioneer in the beauty industry with over 55 years of experience. They are seeking experienced Cosmetologists and Licensed Cosmetology Educators to inspire and educate their daytime and evening students. For individuals not yet licensed as educators, the position offers paid training and support to meet state requirements for becoming a licensed instructor. The role involves teaching assigned classes, guiding students to reach their potential, maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the field, upholding professional standards, grading student work, instructing on and overseeing sanitation, and managing classroom behavior. The ideal candidate will be a solutions-oriented individual capable of handling classroom management effectively.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience working behind the chair
Must hold active Cosmetology license
Leadership and role model capabilities and ability to hold others accountable
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional school environment

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Aveda products/services/curriculum a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Teach assigned classes under the supervision and guidance of the Education Coach & Program Team Lead
Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content
Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge in teaching field
Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position
Grade and return student work in a timely manner
Instruct students on proper sanitation methods and oversee sanitation efforts throughout the day
Classroom management; ensure student compliance with school rules and regulations
Be a solutions-based person who can handle classroom management situations
Complete other assigned duties, as needed
