About The Position

The Manager, Corporate Security – Executive Protection, will provide safe and efficient transport and protection services for senior leadership/management as requested, including close protection, trip planning, advance work, driver services, corporate event coverage, emergency medical support, and security coverage for executive offices, residences, external meetings, and business trip settings. Transportation is provided to designated/requested locations avoiding any possible harm to the executives in the transfer process. The Manager, Corporate Security - EP will conduct comprehensive security advance operations — including pre-advance, trip-advance, site-advance, and hasty-advance functions — to assess and mitigate risks across all venues, routes of travel, lodging, and event locations visited by the principal. The Manager, Corporate Security - EP will perform venue and location risk assessments, detailed route planning, physical security evaluations, and surveillance detection operations to proactively identify and counter potential threats. The Manager, Corporate Security - EP will monitor threats and risks to protected individual’s family members and deploy the appropriate protective model calibrated to the specific risk environment of each assignment. The Manager, Corporate Security - EP will coordinate Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) monitoring sweeps, determine medical support requirements, and be prepared to deliver basic life support and tactical emergency medical care as needed. This position requires domestic and international travel approximately 35% of the time. The Manager, Corporate Security - EP must possess excellent collaborative skills and be capable of working as part of a dynamic team focused on protecting the business executives in a constantly changing environment. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in a field relevant to corporate security, or minimum of 7 years relevant and demonstrated success in law enforcement or corporate security
  • Possess a valid concealed carry, RPO, or LEOSA firearms permit
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and highly technical driving skills
  • Availability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Availability and willingness to travel up to 35% of the time in support of executive protection assignments.
  • Expertise in the use of executive protection techniques, planning, and strategies
  • Ability to function and use sound judgement in high profile situations to include oral and written communication skills, and have problem-solving skills to handle and prioritize executive’s requests and other duties
  • Excellent physical condition and be fit to perform duties including running, lifting heavy objects, kneeling, and navigating physical obstacles
  • Possess basic computer skills in the use of MS Office products and scheduling programs
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time including climbing stairs, and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain

Responsibilities

  • Transport designated executives to and from corporate facilities, special events, airports, and specified locations within the local and regional area.
  • Maintain excellent levels of interpersonal skills to exchange information, answer questions, interact with senior executives, and coordinate with administrative assistants.
  • Identify and avoid potentially hazardous and/or life-threatening situations and provide cover and remove passengers from harm to a safe location.
  • Conduct pre-trip advanced security checks of venues to include a walk-through of all locations including meeting rooms, rear corridors, and evacuation routes with a focus on security risks, fire protection, and medical risks.
  • Conduct all aspects of the security advance process, including: Pre-Advance: Establish points of contact at destination locations, verify current threat intelligence, and confirm logistical arrangements prior to travel. Trip-Advance: Assess airports, routes of travel, venue and meeting locations, lodging and dining locations, and all logistical concerns for a planned trip. Site-Advance: Conduct an in-person assessment ahead of the principal's arrival at each destination to validate conditions, verify security measures, and confirm readiness. Hasty-Advance: Execute expedited advance procedures in the event of unplanned travel or events to ensure the principal's safety under compressed timelines.
  • Evaluate meeting locations and event venues for level of risk to the principal, overall security objectives, potential threats and vulnerabilities, and architectural and environmental factors that may affect the safety of the protected individual and the protective detail.
  • Deploy the appropriate protection model – including but not limited to close protection, standby, or static security postures – calibrated to fit the specific needs and risk environment of each protective detail.
  • Coordinate Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) monitoring sweeps conducted by assigned vendors at locations used by the principal or Board of Directors, as requested or determined by Corporate Security Leadership, ensuring the integrity and security of sensitive communications and meeting environments.
  • Conduct pre-event inspections and security assessments of locations and planned trips to identify risks to the principal and other travelers; develop and implement mitigation strategies to determine resource and logistical needs and requirements for the EP assignment.
  • Monitor potential threats and risks to protected individual’s family members as part of a comprehensive protective intelligence posture and coordinate appropriate protective measures in alignment with the overall executive protection program.
  • Conduct detailed route planning to determine the safest and most efficient routes for protected travelers, to include identifying primary, secondary, and tertiary routes; safe stop locations; emergency services; secure transportation options; and identification of high-risk areas along routes of travel.
  • Evaluate the security posture of locations where protected individuals will be visiting, to include an assessment of physical security measures such as access control systems, video surveillance coverage, and guard force deployment and capabilities.
  • Conduct surveillance detection operations to proactively identify threat actors conducting pre-attack surveillance or exhibiting suspicious behaviors, and integrate findings into the overall protective intelligence picture to mitigate risk to the principal.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with regards to Corporate Executives, including, but not limited to, family contact information, residence location, residence security systems, business discussions, and travel plans.
  • Handle disruptions by protestors or other persons according to policy.
  • Provide security for the executive team during large meetings, special events, and at other designated times and locations.
  • Determine the need for medical support on each assignment and be prepared to initiate basic life support procedures including CPR and AED, as well as tactical emergency medical care, including hemorrhage control and other immediate life-saving interventions, in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Initiate the Medical Response Plan, if needed, and coordinate with Occupational Health and the designated travel support vendor to identify and access the appropriate medical care.
  • Maintain all assigned emergency medical care equipment.
  • Support CEO and LT travel, including on private and commercial flights, to domestic and international locations.
  • Coordinate unplanned needs, including car service and flight changes, with the global travel coordinator and/or the individual’s executive assistant.
  • Be familiar with travel safety procedures, including emergency actions to be taken in the event of a vehicle crash or aviation incident, and ensure all personnel in the protective detail are briefed on emergency protocols prior to travel.
  • Oversee the overall appearance and care of company vehicles utilized for executive protection including the scheduling and coordination of proper maintenance as recommended by the BMS fleet management team.
  • Attend defensive driver training once per year and additional training as assigned by management.
  • Provide and maintain a weapon in accordance with BMS policy.
  • Maintain a valid firearms permit (concealed carry/RPO/LEOSA) to include annual qualification on the weapon and use of force training as required by state and/or federal laws.
  • Comply with BMS Policy and all state and federal laws regarding the use of force.
