About The Position

This role will focus on executing communications across media relations, business unit storytelling, and plant-level communications, working closely with the Director of Corporate Communications and in partnership with marketing, business units, and external agency partners. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and critical thinker who can develop high-quality materials quickly, manage multiple priorities, and deliver consistent, accurate, and timely communications in a fast-paced environment. The Tyson Foods communications team supports the entire enterprise communication function and works closely with each business leader and the executive team.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Communications or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, external-facing messaging
  • Experience drafting media and communications materials
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and manage deliverables effectively

Responsibilities

  • Support media relations and external response efforts
  • Handle inbound media inquiries and coordinate responses
  • Draft media responses aligned with enterprise priorities
  • Develop core communications materials
  • Draft clear, concise, and compelling materials, including media statements, talking points, press releases, and Q&A
  • Support issues and crisis communications
  • Develop responsive materials and coordinate inputs across legal, business units, and subject matter experts
  • Coordinate cross-functional communications efforts
  • Partner cross-functionally to gather input, align messaging, and manage execution
  • Facilities and Plant Communications Support
  • Support external communications related to Tyson Foods facilities, including plant operations, community engagement, and local issues
  • Develop messaging and materials for plant-related topics, including operational updates, community and workforce initiatives, and local media engagement
  • Partner with plant leadership and business units to support communications tied to plant-level issues or events
