About The Position

The Manager: Community Giving and Events is responsible for leading CNIB’s third-party events and community giving activity in Ontario, while developing campaign materials, tools, and processes to support third-party and community fundraising nationally. This role also provides key support to the Major Giving Philanthropy team through the creation of high-quality donor materials, including proposals, impact reports, and stewardship resources. In addition, the Manager supports CNIB fundraising events as required, including Signature events. Working closely with Philanthropy, Marketing, and Program teams, this role contributes to revenue growth, donor engagement, and a consistent, high-quality fundraising experience across Canada.

Requirements

  • Superior design skills and comfort designing public-facing documents.
  • Comfort presenting and speaking in front of groups on behalf of CNIB at events.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.

  • Ability to provide strategic solutions to complex problems using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated success in proposal and donor material development.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to analyze information and make recommendations.
  • Proven time management, planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • BA or equivalent in business, marketing, or fundraising management.
  • 3–5 years of management experience.
  • Strong competencies in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong skills with design software, especially Canva and PowerPoint.
  • Aptitude for planning and analysis with strong project management skills.
  • Adherence to applicable privacy laws and CNIB standards of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting community fundraising, third-party events, and/or fundraising events is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
  • Driver’s license is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead third-party fundraising events and community giving initiatives in Ontario, serving as the primary point of coordination and support.
  • Create, maintain, and continually improve third-party event campaign materials, fundraising tools, templates, and processes to support community and third-party giving nationally.
  • Develop and implement strategies, resources, and guidelines that enable community fundraisers to successfully support CNIB.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure community and third-party fundraising materials are clear, accessible, on-brand, and aligned with fundraising best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers involved in third-party and community fundraising activities.
  • Support the Major Giving Philanthropy team through the development of high-quality donor-facing materials, including proposals, case for support documents, impact reports, and stewardship materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design beautiful, accessible, and engaging proposals and reports using Canva, PowerPoint, and other programs.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, accuracy, and timeliness of donor materials in alignment with CNIB’s brand and accessibility standards.
  • Maintain high-quality stewardship practices by supporting reporting, recognition, and documentation related to donor engagement.
  • Provide operational and project support for additional CNIB fundraising events as required, including Signature events such as GNIB Guide Dog Graduation, Pup Crawl, and others.
  • Support event logistics, sponsorship engagement, guest experience, and post-event stewardship activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure event activities are executed effectively and professionally.
