About The Position

This role supports Tyson Foods’ business priorities by executing internal or external communications that strengthen the company’s brand across the enterprise and its portfolio of brands. It focuses on media relations, business storytelling, enterprise and plant-level communications, partnering with corporate communications leadership, business units, and external agencies. The position develops high-quality materials such as press releases, statements, and talking points while managing media inquiries and coordinating responses. It also supports issues and crisis communications by aligning messaging across legal teams and subject matter experts. Additionally, the incumbent works closely with either internal business leaders to execute enterprise team talks and communicate messaging to the company’s team member base, or directly with plant leadership to communicate operational updates, community initiatives, and local issues relevant to a given location. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and critical thinker who can manage multiple priorities and deliver clear, timely messaging in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, PR or related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, external-facing messaging
  • Experience developing compelling internal stories across a variety of mediums.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, is a must.
  • Experience drafting media and communications materials; experience working with senior leaders a plus
  • Solutions-oriented mindset, with proven experience solving complex communications challenges and implementing targeted solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and manage deliverables effectively

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary internal communications point of contact for multiple business units and enabling functions, including developing and executing tailored communications strategies.
  • Craft clear and engaging written content for a variety of internal channels. Includes but is not limited to change management communications, frontline communications, newsletters, leadership emails and Intranet content.
  • Manage internal events and forums from planning to execution, such as town halls and team member roundtables.
  • Provide regular communications counsel to senior leadership.
  • Design and lead employee engagement campaigns and activations that inject enthusiasm and shared purpose within the organization.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of internal communications and initiatives, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships to proactively identify internal communications needs and opportunities within the business unit and/or functional area.
  • Maintain high standard of accuracy and quality in communications deliverables through strong editing and proofreading, in addition to adherence to Tyson Foods’ tone, style and brand standards.
  • Support media relations and external response efforts
  • Handle inbound media inquiries and coordinate responses
  • Draft media responses aligned with enterprise priorities
  • Draft clear, concise, and compelling materials, including media statements, talking points, press releases, and Q&A
  • Develop responsive materials and coordinate inputs across legal, business units, and subject matter experts
  • Coordinate cross-functional communications efforts
  • Partner cross-functionally to gather input, align messaging, and manage execution
  • Support external communications related to Tyson Foods facilities, including plant operations, community engagement, and local issues
  • Develop messaging and materials for plant-related topics, including operational updates, community and workforce initiatives, and local media engagement
  • Partner with plant leadership and business units to support communications tied to plant-level issues or events
