Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company. Purpose: The Manager, Commercial Development, drives the design and delivery of customized and role-specific training programs, specifically owning Strategic Account Management and the Management Development Program, as well as supporting the coordination and execution of Marketing’s training plan and other support as required across Commercial Training and Development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with leaders to develop personalized learning journeys, leveraging advanced learning technologies and best-in-class content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial roles, sales strategies, and marketing dynamics within a healthcare/pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with Sales and Marketing leaders at multiple levels.
  • Experience managing and mentoring commercial resources or teams.
  • Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deploy customized leadership development programs.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to build strong relationships across functions.
  • Innovative and adaptable in using technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Passionate about developing high-potential leaders in sales and marketing.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales Leadership experience preferred.
  • Marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience in commercial development, coaching, or training preferred
  • Experience leveraging Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital learning technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of training programs with emphasis on the Strategic Account Management team and the Management Development program.
  • Ensure the training plan enhances core skills, competencies and overall commercial excellence.
  • Align with the board and engage directly with Commercial Directors to establish priority skills and competency training consisting of virtual and hands-on training facilitation.
  • Utilize and adapt content from the peer-led Commercial Skill Academies, ensuring relevance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with managers and leaders of trainees to design personalized learning journeys utilizing Learning Technology platforms, tracking progress and enabling data-driven development.
  • Liaise with the broader training team to incorporate content, best practices, and innovation into customized leadership programs.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and continuously refine content and delivery methods based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Stay current with industry trends in sales and marketing leadership development, fostering innovative approaches to learning.
