About The Position

We are looking for a Manager, Coalition Support to help power the San Jose early literacy coalition and its 2030 goal: doubling the number of students in East Side San Jose who read proficiently by the end of 3rd grade. The coalition brings together Teach For America, the City of San Jose, school districts, nonprofit organizations, educators, and community leaders, and this temporary role provides the project management, data, and research support that keeps that work moving. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educational equity with the ability to turn complex, multi-partner conversations into clear plans, clean data, and consistent follow-through. You will prepare the materials that keep stakeholders aligned, maintain the systems that track commitments and progress, and bring research to the table that helps the coalition make evidence-informed decisions about strategies like Ignite, a high-dosage tutoring model, and other literacy initiatives. Your work will also support California-wide coalition efforts by connecting local learning to statewide strategy. The goal is to give the coalition the systems, data, and insights it needs to move from conversation to coordinated action. All coalition activities focus on educational initiatives and literacy outcomes. This role does not involve lobbying for legislation or supporting electoral campaigns.

  • Flexibility and adaptability when priorities shift
  • Commitment to educational equity and belief in the potential of all students to succeed
