About The Position

Manager, Cloud Engineering is responsible for hiring, evaluating, and supervising a crew, providing guidance and training as necessary. This role involves setting performance standards, reviewing performance, and making compensation decisions. The manager will handle complex cloud platform issues, manage technical support staff, and plan short-range goals and strategies to meet departmental objectives. They will also develop and implement changes to department policies, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and lead quality initiatives to enhance service levels. Responsibilities include delivering software maintenance, ensuring system uptime and performance optimization, collaborating with stakeholders on platform standards, implementing new technologies for enterprise-wide infrastructure projects, and developing technical standards. The role also involves managing the performance of IT cloud vendor products and services, understanding client business functions and requirements, determining appropriate technical tools, and participating in special projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years related work experience, with three years experience in threat analysis.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew.
  • Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew.
  • Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions.
  • Manages the resolution of the most complex cloud platform issues elevated from staff and clients.
  • Manages technical support staff who implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and install cloud computing platforms across all systems.
  • Plans, develops, and executes short range goals and strategies to meet department, divisional, and corporate objectives.
  • Develops and implements changes to department policies and standard operating procedures to meet changing business needs.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and system optimization.
  • Leads quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels.
  • Responsible for delivering software maintenance and ensuring optimization of system up time and performance for critical technology is completed.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and maintain standards for platforms.
  • Implements new technologies for enterprise-wide infrastructure projects.
  • Develops technical standards to serve Vanguard technical needs.
  • Manages the ongoing performance of IT cloud vendor products and services.
  • Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements.
  • Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
