The Manager Clinical Resource Unit is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating nursing practice, operations, and services to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role assumes 24-hour responsibility for the daily clinical and administrative functions of the nursing unit, maintaining efficient operations, and ensuring the availability of necessary staff, supplies, and equipment. The manager establishes staffing requirements, plans for human resource utilization, and facilitates care delivery in alignment with a patient-centered philosophy. They utilize evidence-based practice to improve care processes and outcomes, support care management activities, and facilitate smooth coordination of inter-departmental services. Additionally, the manager is responsible for staff selection, development, motivation, and evaluation, including recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions. They also oversee the departmental budget, including planning, administration, and monitoring of expenses, and foster effective working relationships with internal and external contacts. The role promotes continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical standards, and is responsible for personal and professional growth and development.
