About The Position

Professional position to provide consultation and training in the IDD and Autism services environment across multiple counties in Texas. Applicant will participate in case consultations regarding children and adults with autism and IDD who are having difficulties in their community settings due to medical, behavioral, or psychiatric issues. Consultations require good knowledge of the Medicaid Waiver system (HCS, CLASS, MDCP, TxHML), LMHA and LIDDA functions, and support resources for both individuals and families. The position requires a familiarity with various topics related to support and services for individuals of all ages who have IDD or autism. The person will identify training needs of caregivers, develop trainings, and present trainings on a regular basis both virtually and in person. The person will be organized with collection, tracking, and reporting of data collected during consults and training. Information gathering and dissemination are key components of the role. The person will be a team member who acts as a resource for those involved in the system of care.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed provider of services such as OT, SLP, LPC, LCSW, LMFT.
  • Master’s degree and license in related healthcare field.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license.
  • Experience working with others and with persons who exhibit challenging behaviors or have complex medical needs.
  • Computer Skills.
  • Must be able to perform light (15lb), pushing, stooping, light carrying (15lb), repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking and sitting, running and some lifting.
  • Must have the ability to see, write, operate office equipment, and operate motor vehicle and have depth perception.
  • Qualified individual must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
