About The Position

This position is located at the System Office in Livonia, MI. The Manager of Clinical Engineering Regulatory & Quality Operations is a frontline, department-based role that supervises daily functions of the assigned department. This leader provides clear direction and manages/advances people, processes, structures, and/or programs that support direct/indirect care. The leader demonstrates behaviors aligned with the Trinity Health culture and creates/supports comprehensive strategies, measuring progress to achieve desired outcomes. The role involves providing advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM and Region leaders in developing strategies and achieving performance goals, enabling collaboration across and within service areas, RHMs, and Regions for consistency and integration of strategy and operations. The position also oversees vendor/contract labor management, supports system-wide strategy development, and is accountable for the selection, evaluation, and success of functional leadership teams. This role serves as the organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing, and is accountable for communication between service area functional areas, RHMs, and Region leaders. The Manager is responsible for measuring and reporting KPIs/metrics and value delivery, providing guidance for the colleague lifecycle, and maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and the Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent in relevant field, such as business administration, management, or a related discipline.
  • Five (5) to Ten (10) years of progressive experience in healthcare technology management or similar industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team of professionals with ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve high performance.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Providing advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM and Region leaders in developing strategies and in the achievement of performance goals.
  • Enabling collaboration across and within service area, RHM, and Regions to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
  • Overseeing Vendor/Contract Labor Management including centralizing strategy and optimizing spend.
  • Collaborating in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives.
  • Supporting regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities.
  • Accountable for the selection, evaluation, and overall success of the functional leadership teams.
  • Serving as the organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing.
  • Accountable for communication between service area functional area, RHM, and Regions leader.
  • Responsible for measuring and reporting KPIs/metrics and value delivery.
  • Providing advice, guidance, and leadership for the colleague life cycle.

  • Providing support to THCE system level services, field operations, and cross-functional departments to achieve goals and priorities.
  • Supporting all THCE national and ministry level CE leads to enable operational effectiveness.
  • Working with National Director and CE leadership team to maintain, define, track, and implement quality processes and standards supporting the Trinity Health CE program.
  • Participating in and leading quality planning, quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement exercises to ensure adherence to established protocols.
  • Developing and supporting national level standards, guidelines, processes, and strategies to address internal/external business and regulatory requirements.
  • Providing functional analysis expertise related to tracking and monitoring established performance measures and operational standards.
  • Staying current with industry developments, standards, and regulatory requirements and advising National Director of emerging and evolving changes.
  • Identifying, defining, and advising leadership of potential issues that may impact the management and direction of the program while collaborating with all sub-departments within THCE to ensure consistency and alignment with established standards and processes.
  • Monitoring and supporting repetitive ongoing operational processes such as annual Program Quality Evaluations (PQE) and alert recall management, to ensure timeliness of task completions and on time compliance metrics are met.
  • Participating in CE operations leadership huddles and work sessions to support all internal THCE departments to establish, document, and update all THCE Standards, Guidelines, Work Instructions, Tagging Conventions, and Numbered Memos to ensure consistency in processes across all THCE.
  • Supporting National Director and Area Directors with transition of new service region member acquisitions and divestitures of existing member sites.
  • Participating in and monitoring transition/divestiture projects and communicating status of transition/divestiture potential milestone barriers that could delay timely completion of established transition.
  • Providing research and interpretation of program compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as with The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care (EOC), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the Association of the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Homeland Security, and other related standards and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintaining awareness of new industry developments and standards.
