About The Position

Accountable for day-to-day Clinical Engineering (CE) operations across Endeavor Health's nine hospitals, inclusive of biomedical engineering and imaging maintenance contracts. Accountable for CE service delivery across all sites in scope regardless of delivery model, inclusive of OEM and third-party service organizations. This role ensures the sustainment of equipment uptime and PM compliance, leads complex service projects, and partners with site and clinical leadership and vendors to deliver safe, reliable medical-device service. Drives operational performance against KPIs and continuous-improvement goals across all sites in scope.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years in CE or an equivalent technical discipline
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a related area is required

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day CE operations across all sites in scope; oversee service and PM work completion, outstanding-work resolution, equipment uptime, and active CE projects against established KPIs, holding all service delivery resources to a single performance standard
  • Manage and develop site-based CE leadership; provide direction to on-site service management, including performance expectations, goal setting, and succession or continuity planning
  • Oversee equipment performance and on-site service execution by contracted providers to uphold patient care and safety; manage day-to-day contractor performance and escalate deficiencies, including recommendations for equipment replacement or contract remediation
  • Lead complex CE operational and new-equipment projects, including pre-purchase evaluations, total-cost-of-ownership assessments
  • Execute the CE operating budget for service and maintenance across sites in scope; manage spend to plan, explain variance, and implement corrective action; recommend equipment renovation, refurbishment, replacement, or redeployment based on age, failure rate, cost of service, and clinical use, and provide service-performance data to support the CE capital and replacement planning process
  • Report CE performance to clinical, site, and regional leadership through committees and operational reviews; execute regulatory and compliance requirements at the site level and maintain survey readiness
  • Oversee CE service delivery resource capability and utilization through development plans, workload balancing, coverage planning, and productivity and quality audits; ensure competency, training, and credentialing standards are met by all resources regardless of employer
