About The Position

Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. This role serves internal and external stakeholders including co-workers, patients, clients, contractors, and vendors. The position handles sensitive and/or confidential information, demonstrates understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA), and applies policies, procedures, and business office standards effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
  • Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Business Math Skills: Ability to perform calculations including percentages, ratios, and data interpretation
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in email, word processing, spreadsheets, and data systems; ability to create and manage reports and documents
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex information, resolve sensitive issues, and influence stakeholders
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex situations and apply sound judgment using established practices
  • Decision Making: Impacts departmental operations and contributes to broader business decisions
  • Leadership & Judgment: Sets priorities, establishes goals, and resolves operational challenges
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, and allocate resources effectively
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 10%) by land and/or air

Responsibilities

  • Assists with developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives aligned with the organization’s strategic plan and vision
  • Manages staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution
  • Oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems, equipment, and supplies; monitors usage and ensures proper functionality and inventory levels
  • Fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development
  • Ensures the department remains focused on its role within the continuum of care
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Manages the work of others including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work
  • Ensures quality standards are met
  • Responsible for hiring, training, developing, evaluating performance, and administering corrective action
  • Oversees staff engagement and accountability
