About The Position

BlueGrace Logistics is a leading Managed Logistics/Transportation provider in North America experiencing growth. We are seeking an experienced Manager, Carrier Sales to lead and develop a team of Carrier Sales Representatives in Chicago. This role involves significant ownership of carrier relationships and team performance to drive business growth.

Requirements

  • 4-5+ years of experience selling freight as a carrier sales representative.
  • Prior people-management experience preferred.
  • Extensive carrier portfolio development and management experience.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy and the bid package process.
  • Strong fundamental approach to load board management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Carrier Sales Representatives, including onboarding new hires and developing senior reps.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance management for the team, conducting regular one-on-ones and monthly performance reviews.
  • Set the team's tone regarding urgency, accountability, and ownership of freight in the region.
  • Build and strengthen carrier relationships to enhance pricing consistency, service reliability, and coverage speed.
  • Direct carrier development priorities, focusing on high-volume lanes, problem lanes, niche markets, and new carrier onboarding.
  • Monitor market and capacity trends and adjust regional strategy accordingly.
  • Collaborate with customer sales to prioritize the load board and align on pricing strategy for current and prospective accounts.
  • Consult on spot market opportunities and support regional pricing development.
  • Utilize technology and data to identify coverage risks early and guide the team's focus on critical relationships.
  • Facilitate team meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
