About The Position

We are currently seeking a Manager, Capital Management and Governance to join our Finance, FP&A and Capital Management team in Sudbury. Relocation will be required for this role. The role is a permanent position. This posting is for an existing position vacancy. As a Manager, Capital Management and Governance you will be accountable for enterprise-wide capital governance, financial integrity, and project controls across Ontario operations. This role leads a multidisciplinary team overseeing capital planning, forecasting, systems governance, and compliance with corporate standards. Acting as the primary authority on capital governance, the Manager supports senior leadership decision-making, ensures alignment with strategic priorities, and drives continuous improvement in capital management performance.

Requirements

  • University degree in a related field (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline) is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a related position.
  • Minimum 10 years of cost control experience, preferably in a project environment on light to heavy industrial or steel/ mining segment projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, project accounting and project reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly organized individual, strong accounting skills, and documentation management.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment, effective communicator, problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Continuous improvement approach to getting things done and a track record of improving project control systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, or Project Management Professional (PMP) are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure effective capital governance and project controls.
  • Own and enforce capital governance and Delegation of Authority (DOA) compliance across all project approvals, acting as the escalation point for complex issues.
  • Direct the development and delivery of multi-year capital plans, forecasts, and financial models aligned with business strategy.
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy, and governance of financial and project data across SAP and related systems.
  • Review and approve critical financial analyses and reporting to support senior leadership decision-making.
  • Lead and represent Capital Management in key governance forums, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Manage financial, compliance, and audit risks, including SOX control accountability and audit readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and integration across capital governance processes, systems, and external partners.
