Manager, Business Planning

The Ministry of Energy and Minerals is responsible for sustaining the interests of Albertans through the stewardship and responsible development of energy and mineral resource systems. The Ministry Services Division provides enterprise-wide support services for the Department of Energy and Minerals and ensures alignment with and adherence to related Government of Alberta-wide policy and direction. As part of the Ministry Services Division, the Business Services Branch provides legislative planning and reporting, coordination of the department’s policy, legislation and agency governance files, coordination of the red tape reduction initiative for the department, and facilities, and accommodations services on behalf of the department for both the Edmonton and Calgary offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or related subject area, plus a minimum number of four years related experience in business planning and reporting is required.
- Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one-for-one basis.

Responsibilities
- Planning and Reporting – development of the business plan, annual report and briefing binders for Committee of Supply and Public Accounts.
- Performance Management and Evaluations – Coordinate and facilitate the development and reporting of performance metrics, related to business planning and reporting. Lead, champion and facilitate the implementation of the department's evaluation framework
- Lead the Ministry's Risk Management Process.
- Lead the development and coordination of department business continuity plans.
- Support the Director in achieving Business Planning mandate and goals
