Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting or business management experience, including experience supporting music industry clients, touring artists, entertainers, or other complex multi-entity clients.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, monthly financial close, general ledger management, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and multi-entity accounting.
  • Experience reviewing work prepared by others and leading client engagements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CFP designation.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience supporting record labels, music publishers, royalty administration, tour accounting, promoter settlements, production accounting, guild reporting, or other entertainment industry financial operations.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, AgilLink, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for music industry clients, including touring artists, managers, business managers, vendors, and external advisors.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships through proactive communication, financial guidance, and exceptional client service.
  • Lead and coordinate client meetings, present financial reporting, and provide recommendations to support business and touring operations.
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of client accounts, including bill pay, cash management, wire transfers, and banking activity.
  • Manage tour accounting activities, including settlement review, tour reconciliations, promoter settlements, and coordination with tour personnel.
  • Review and approve client invoices, tour expenses, and vendor payments to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Oversee the monthly financial close process, including review of account reconciliations and client reporting.
  • Review general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, cash flow forecasts, budgets, and other financial analyses.
  • Oversee year-end financial close activities, including preparation and review of 1099s, tax packages, and other required business filings.
  • Review payroll reporting and coordinate with payroll providers to ensure accurate recording of touring and business management payroll.
  • Coordinate with record labels, publishers, royalty administrators, business managers, attorneys, insurance brokers, and other industry professionals to support client operations.
  • Support clients with complex financial and operational matters, including entity structures, major purchases, financing requests, insurance reviews, and investment documentation.
  • Assist with audits, tax examinations, royalty reviews, and other special projects.
  • Ensure timely completion of regulatory filings, including business licenses, Secretary of State filings, and other required compliance matters.
  • Review and approve client engagement billings, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee multiple client engagements and deliverables while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, performance feedback, and review of work performed by team members while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of team members.
  • Support business development efforts by strengthening existing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and assisting with new client onboarding.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational initiatives that enhance client service and team efficiency.
