About The Position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the direction and management of a team of sales and customer service agents who support our Cosmetics & Hygiene site. This role involves collaborating with senior management to develop sales strategies, managing the Customer Service function, defining and tracking sales team KPIs, and generating leads and sales through client relationship development. The position also requires market research, proposal generation, and staying informed about new business trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field in science or engineering
  • 7+ years working in business development or sales
  • 3+ years of previous supervisory experience
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical research environment preferred
  • Master’s degree in relevant field in science, engineering, or business
  • Business development experience in a CDMO environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direction and management of a team of sales and customer service agents.
  • Collaboration with the senior management team to develop and define sales strategies for achieving sales goals.
  • Management of the Customer Service function in support of sales and client invoicing.
  • Definition, tracking, and management of sales teams KPI/Metrics; financials, activities, pipeline, prospecting.
  • Maximizing efficiencies of customer service organization to ensure ultimate client satisfaction.
  • Generating leads and sales through client and prospect relationship development.
  • Closing sales on prospective clients and maintaining functional relationships with major accounts.
  • Developing relationships with current clients to maintain business and obtain additional business from other areas within the account and referrals.
  • Obtaining master service agreements with prospective clients.
  • Market research to assist in annual marketing and sales plan.
  • Assisting the business development team with marketing ideas.
  • Attending annual conferences and assisting with organization and implementation of marketing and sales activities.
  • Following up on leads from referrals, trade shows, advertising, and the Company’s website.
  • Generating proposals for existing clients and prospects.
  • Following up with new clients to ensure that the Company is meeting their needs and to expand business within a current client’s organization.
  • Discussing with management new trends or new programs that should be explored that will improve or enhance the business and increase sales.
