About The Position

Manager, Brand Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing Manager, Brand Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing Capital One is seeking a talented sponsorships and experiential marketing leaders to join the Brand team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the experiential marketing strategy and execution of sponsorships to deliver a meaningful consumer experience, as well as B2B client hospitality. This role will define how we meet business objectives through experiential based marketing, and contribute to the larger, integrated sponsorship strategy. You should have knowledge and experience in building long-term strategies supported by event execution and sponsorships – sports and entertainment (e.g., music, dining, etc) based sponsorships are preferred. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of marketers in coordinating and managing sponsorship property partners, while working with senior leaders and interdepartmental teams to plan & execute sponsorship activations and VIP hospitality experiences. The Manager will lead relationships with internal and external partners, lead teams to strategize/plan sponsorship activations and partner in managing external agencies . The Brand team is responsible for positioning and differentiating the Capital One brand and empowering teams across the enterprise to deliver a cohesive and powerful brand experience – to our associates, customers, prospects and the community at large.

  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in sponsorships and experiential marketing or event planning
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing

  • 7+ years of experience in sponsorships and experiential marketing or event planning
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing
  • At least 1 year of experience managing people or leading teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead sponsorship and experiential strategy and execution
  • Lead in the development of strategy and objectives for national sponsorship properties
  • Understand business needs in order to build activations that support these objectives
  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of onsite experiences and VIP hospitality programs for tentpole sponsorships
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute sponsorship activations and VIP hospitality programs
  • Well managed operations
  • Create KPIs and communicate metrics and opportunities that influence and inform partners and stakeholders
  • Manage budgets and evaluate performance to ensure learnings are applied to future sponsorships and experience activations and relationships.
  • Be accountable for all governance and risk mitigation required in delivery of events and experiences in assigned sponsorships properties.
  • Stay up to date with competitive trends for Capital One’s core categories to deliver informed points of view.
  • Ensure the customer and consumer experience is considered and cared for throughout all work.
  • Manage key partners (agencies, vendors, venues, etc.)
