We currently have an opportunity for a Manager, Biological Sciences R&D position located in Rockleigh, NJ. The Manager, Biological Sciences R&D position entails managing biology team members which includes training and mentoring junior team members. It requires directing, coordinating and managing biology R&D projects and biology related service requests.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with 7+ years’ direct experience in the fragrance & flavor or related industry.
  • Masters or PhD degree in Microbiology or Psychology, Neuroscience, Sensory Science, Psychophysics and with commensurate experience.
  • Experience leading a team is highly desirable.
  • The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • Experience leading and developing a team and developing new methods and protocols.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD degree in Microbiology or Psychology, Neuroscience, Sensory Science, Psychophysics is preferred with commensurate experience.
  • Proficiency in statistics, SAP or other enterprise systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to develop new technologies, methods and intellectual property to anticipate and support Takasago's business needs.
  • Develop in vitro lab as well as in home use test methods.
  • Data analysis, interpretation, consult and trouble shoot technical and/or project related issues, formulating next steps to develop the projects.
  • External and internal support and collaboration with cross division teams, global alignment on methods and results are expected.
  • Presentations and reports writing to both external and internal customers are also expected.
  • Oversee administrative and legal issues related to biology R&D.
  • Regular review of the competitive landscape and scientific literature.
  • Other duties as needed.
