About The Position

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a Manager, Behavioral Health Technicians. This full-time role involves managing the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The manager will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee the acquisition and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and foster a professional, growth-oriented environment. This role is critical in the continuum of care and serves both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include planning and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards, and managing hiring, training, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and terminations, while maintaining regular and reliable attendance to support consistent leadership. The position requires an understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance, including HIPAA, and skilled application of policies and procedures. The manager will oversee the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, and is responsible for hiring, terminating, training, and developing staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited school required.
  • Three years of behavioral health experience required.
  • CPR certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • De-escalation certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • One year of leadership/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and oversees the acquisition and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Fosters a professional, growth‑oriented environment, ensures the department maintains its critical role in the continuum of care, and serves both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plans and reviews work, ensuring quality standards, and managing hiring, training, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and terminations, while maintaining regular and reliable attendance to support consistent leadership.
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Perform and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
  • Have regular and reliable attendance.
  • Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance.
  • Skilled in the application of policies and procedures.
  • Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, and ensuring quality standards.
  • Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
