Manager - Battery Operations and Strategy

American Battery Technology CompanyReno, NV

About The Position

The Manager of Battery Operations and Strategy is responsible for delivering safe, repeatable, and scalable operations and battery feedstock readiness and accompanying analytics. This role converts complex and evolving feedstock streams into stable, executable operations. Success requires strong ownership, disciplined execution, and the ability to translate technical detail into measurable operational progress while maintaining a professional, solutions-focused environment across Business Development, Operations, Engineering, and the Analytical Laboratory teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, or equivalent hands-on industrial experience with an emphasis on electrical systems.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing, remanufacturing, battery operations, or BESS operations.
  • Experience with lithium-ion batteries, high-voltage systems, or hazardous energy environments preferred.
  • Experience using analytical data to communicate proposals for business direction.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership of technical and/or operations teams.
  • Proven ability to execute initiatives from concept through operational implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Own feedstock readiness end-to-end and ensure inbound battery materials are safely, efficiently, and consistently converted into process-ready form factors.
  • Drive execution with urgency and accountability by translating direction into action plans, follow through on priorities, and close the loop on deliverables.
  • Develop and operationalize preparation methods across diverse battery chemistries, form factors, and evolving feedstock types.
  • Lead and develop technician performance by balancing structure with execution.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver results — align with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, and Lab teams to convert feedstock opportunities into executable pathways.
  • Coordinate feedstock characterization and assay analysis. Work with the Lab to obtain accurate composition data on metals of value; translate results into actionable insights that inform commercial, operational, and processing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a structured feedstock intelligence database that catalogs feed types, preparation characteristics, and analytical results to improve decision-making, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously improve safety, throughput, and process reliability by ensuring methods are practical, validated, and operationally repeatable.
  • Maintain rigorous safety and operational discipline to enforce lithium-ion handling standards, define process-ready criteria, and ensure consistent training and execution.
