About The Position

The Washington Commanders are seeking a driven, dynamic Manager, AV to join our AV & Broadcast team as a full-time leader. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of operations that support successful event and game day experiences. The Manager will lead and develop a part-time staff, ensure facility and equipment readiness, coordinate maintenance and operational priorities, and provide hands-on support before, during, and after events. The position requires a proactive leader who can manage multiple responsibilities, maintain high operational standards, solve problems in real time, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and third party contacts.
  • Must be able to perform essential duties safely and in a timely manner.
  • Basic understanding of audio and video equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of and the ability to learn cable types.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to identify and report TV and sound issues.
  • Must be able to stand, walk and work in-stadium both indoors and outdoors for duration of the shifts.
  • Must be able to work required schedule which could include weekends and nights.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Production, Audio Visual Technology, Communications, Sports Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in audiovisual technology, broadcast production, or live event operations.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse staff.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative, resourceful, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk long distances, and climb stairs as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of staffing for the AV department, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and development of a part-time production crew.
  • Ensure stadium-wide operational readiness through detailed inspections, issue identification, and coordination of corrective actions for events and game days.
  • Establish and execute strategic preventive maintenance initiatives that optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and extend the useful life of AV assets.
  • Identify and report TV and sound issues.
  • Move equipment and set up cables as needed and organize and maintain equipment and cables.
  • Other related tasks to assist with event and game day preparations and support.
