About The Position
The Manager, Assortment Activation, leads the planning and coordination of modular execution to ensure efficient resource allocation and timely delivery of milestones. This role provides expert guidance on execution standards, monitors progress, and addresses risks to maintain quality outcomes. Collaborating cross-functionally, the manager translates strategic needs into actionable plans while fostering continuous improvement and team development. By mentoring associates and promoting operational excellence, this position supports Walmart’s commitment to delivering value through disciplined execution, strong communication, and a focus on achieving business objectives with integrity and accountability. This team brings the Merchant’s strategy to life in stores by designing modulars and floorplans that optimize product presentation. They balance workload and coordinate project execution to meet quality and timeline goals. Acting as subject-matter experts, they provide guidance to ensure consistent standards and track progress to address risks. The team collaborates across functions to translate strategic needs into actionable plans while driving continuous improvement through feedback and data analysis. Their focus on operational excellence supports effective resource allocation, process enhancement, and team development to deliver impactful in-store experiences.
Requirements
- Proven experience in workload planning, resource allocation, and project coordination to ensure timely and quality execution.
- Strong ability to manage cross-functional communication, translating complex needs into clear, actionable plans.
- Expertise in modular execution standards and process improvement to maintain consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated skills in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to foster operational excellence.
- Proficiency in data analysis to track progress, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to upholding integrity, ethical standards, and company policies while delivering business results.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, operations, or related area and 2 years’ experience in retail operations, merchandising, or modular execution.
- OR 4 years’ experience in retail operations, merchandising, or modular execution, with demonstrated coordination ownership.

- Provide expert guidance on execution standards and walkthrough practices, supporting associates to maintain consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Track progress, identify risks, and remove obstacles to achieve deadlines and quality expectations.
- Translate leadership and analyst requirements into structured execution plans with clear communication of updates and decisions.
- Capture feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement and refine execution processes.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering operational excellence and growth opportunities.
