About The Position

The Manager, Enterprise Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank’s Enterprise Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (“ABAC”) Program, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. In this role, the incumbent will support the Senior Managers and Director of Scotiabank’s Enterprise Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption function in the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Enterprise ABAC Program.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education and/or professional designations
  • 2+ years of related experience in the financial services industry
  • Good judgment and attention to detail, researching matters and providing advice and counsel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to senior leadership audiences
  • Experience in managing several ongoing assignments and competing priorities concurrently, working independently and as directed by senior members of the team
  • Results-driven focus, with strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • General analytical skills with ability to collect, organize and analyze data and reports; ability to read and comprehend Power Bi reports for effective decision-making support
  • Ability to operate in a high performing, flexible and small team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledgeable about Scotiabank’s organizational structure and products and services offered by the business units

Responsibilities

  • Provide extensive subject matter knowledge via advice and counsel to Business Lines and Corporate Functions relative to all aspects of the Enterprise ABAC Program, including Gifts and Entertainment, Third Party Risk Management, Charitable Donations, Corporate Sponsorships, Hiring Practices, Books and Records, and other Advisory Services.
  • Contribute to the development, enhancement, and operationalization of Enterprise ABAC frameworks, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Undertake additional projects and initiatives relating to Scotiabank’s ABAC initiatives as requested by Senior Managers and the Director of Enterprise ABAC.
  • Monitor emerging industry intelligence related to bribery and corruption risk to identify and appropriately disseminate lessons learned throughout the organization.
  • Participate in reviews and ultimately the dispositioning of inquiries/escalations associated with Third Party Payments and Charitable Donations, Sponsorships, and Memberships to discount the presence of potential bribery and corruption risk.
  • Assist with the coordination of Regulatory Library activities and engagement for Enterprise ABAC, including advice and counsel with stakeholders and performing mapping updates within the Regulatory Library.
  • Provide meaningful advice and counsel, reasonability reviews, and associated submissions pertaining to various risk assessments including NIRAs, CRCAs, and RCSAs.
  • Organize and track response submissions to Internal Audit, Testing, and QAR teams.
  • Craft Issue Details and develop Action Plans associated with Enterprise ABAC Management Self-Identified Issues and coordinate all associated remediation and closure activities.
  • Lead the preparation and enhancement of management reporting, including Program status reports, dashboards, governance committee reports, Board-level reports, and regulatory reports.
  • Collate and analyze data and metrics to identify emerging risk, communicate insights, and support reporting of key elements of the Enterprise ABAC Program, including Violations, Incidents, and Issues.
