About The Position

The Manager, AI Enablement leads implementation of the O’Reilly AI strategy by establishing an operating model for governance, standards, and delivery practices that enable the adoption and use of AI across O’Reilly. This role partners with technology, information security, Legal, risk, and business teams to identify opportunities for automation, guide AI-enabled transformation, and coordinate the implementation of AI technologies in accordance with approved standards and practices. The position also helps establish and develop a global AI Enablement team responsible for building scalable AI capabilities, supporting innovation, and driving continuous improvement across AI platforms and services.
This is an on-site position located in Springfield, MO. Remote work is not an option for this role.

Requirements

• Experience leading AI, automation, digital transformation, enterprise AI platform management, technology governance, or related technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated success leading technical teams and developing talent within a complex and evolving technology environment.
• Strong working knowledge of AI technologies, generative AI capabilities, architecture and integration patterns, and AI evaluation and operational-quality practices, with the ability to apply them within business operations.
• Knowledge of AI governance, privacy, information security, vendor risk management, identity and access management, and regulatory compliance practices.
• Ability to evaluate business needs and translate them into scalable technology solutions that balance innovation, risk, and operational value.
• Experience establishing standards, processes, and enablement practices that improve the consistent adoption of AI and other applicable technology solutions
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, balancing competing demands, and driving results through cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant working experience will be considered.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms, automation tools, AI application-development services, and related technologies.
• Experience supporting AI adoption, change management, and enterprise enablement programs.
• Familiarity with AI architecture, agent frameworks, and AI platform management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the enterprise AI governance framework in coordination with accountable Legal, GRC, Privacy, Information Security, and business partners, including AI use-case classification standards, approval pathways, risk-tiering, and readiness practices.
• Establish and oversee a centralized enterprise AI intake and portfolio-management process that captures business objectives, accountable sponsors, intended outcomes, dependencies, risk signals, and prioritization needs for AI initiatives across the organization.
• Drive a federated model for AI adoption and solution delivery by enabling Technology and business teams with approved platforms, standards, solution patterns, and skill development. Provide centralized governance, portfolio visibility, and reporting to monitor AI use, adoption, benefits, risk signals, and cost and consumption trends where available, while accountable domain teams build, deliver, operate, and realize value from solutions within their areas.
• Define and maintain common AI platform and solution patterns, implementation standards, evaluation requirements, controls, and templates in partnership with accountable architecture, data, security, and platform teams.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of repeatable enablement and delivery patterns for approved enterprise AI platforms and technologies, enabling accountable domain teams to design, build, and operate AI solutions using consistent best practices.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and assess opportunities for automation and AI-enabled process improvement, with clear business sponsorship, intended outcomes, and alignment to operational priorities.
• Lead AI use-case discovery with business stakeholders, apply approved solution patterns with accountable domain teams, and communicate the benefits, risks, and limitations of AI capabilities.
• Define AI-specific identity, access, and security requirements for agents, integrations, and platform services in coordination with accountable Identity, Information Security, architecture, and platform teams.
• Partner with FinOps and accountable platform owners to monitor AI usage, licensing, and consumption trends; support forecasting, show back where available, optimization, and periodic value reviews.
• Maintain a catalog of approved AI use cases, prototypes, and production services to improve visibility, governance, and knowledge sharing across the enterprise.
• Coordinate common AI initiative lifecycle practices, including design, evaluation, readiness, and reassessment, while accountable business sponsors and domain teams lead solution delivery and operations within their areas.
• Establish performance measures and reporting that demonstrate adoption, effectiveness, value realization, and operational performance of AI solutions.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen AI capabilities, governance, and business outcomes.
• Lead and develop a geographically distributed team by establishing clear expectations, building technical capability, and fostering collaboration across global locations.
• Coordinate AI-specific evaluation, governance, and readiness practices with accountable Information Security, Privacy, Legal, GRC, and business partners to support compliance with applicable requirements.
