About The Position

The Manager, Addiction Services will assist the Director, Addiction Services to ensure effective, efficient daily operation of the program within the general policies and guidelines of Mission Services.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience in the field of addiction, mental health and/or other social services
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in social work, social service work, counselling, criminal justice, or related field
  • Demonstrated solid knowledge in the substance use treatment field including abstinence based and harm reduction practices
  • Understanding of working from a trauma-informed, anti-racist anti-oppressive perspective
  • Understanding of challenges and barriers faced by individuals experiencing substance use and mental health concerns
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Suntrac, Harm Reduction, and Addiction Supportive Housing (ASH) programs
  • In consultation with the Director of Addiction Services, lead the performance management of program staff including supervision and evaluation
  • Identify hiring needs and support in the recruitment and onboarding of new program staff with the support of the Director of Addiction Services and People, Culture and Communication Department
  • Train all new staff, students and volunteers within Addiction Services
  • Review, evaluate and develop program curriculum, policies and procedures in consultation with the Director of Addiction Services
  • Keep accurate statistics and case file records within designated program areas and provide reports to the Director as required
  • Lead and supervise case management discussions, group facilitation and outreach of programs to meet service user needs; carry a service user case load as required
  • Work within parameters of program budget
  • Represent and promote the program in the community and on assigned committees
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with the individual Suntrac, ASH, and Harm Reduction Team members
  • Schedule and manage Suntrac, ASH, and Harm Reduction team trainings and team meetings
  • Attend departmental meetings with the department as required
  • Oversee the attendance of staff, approving staff payroll through Mission Services payroll platform
  • Adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality
  • Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to management
  • Follow Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Uphold the organization’s mission, values and standards
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned
