About The Position

The Manager & Actuary supports inforce and M&A reinsurance transactions through activities that include pricing, modeling, assumption setting, structuring, and due diligence. The role assesses block reinsurance opportunities, develops pricing assumptions, builds and runs AXIS models, and evaluates transaction results. The position also contributes to capital and risk optimization, challenges existing processes, and presents deals to Senior Management for approval.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, or Accounting.
FSA required.
At least 5 years of actuarial experience in the life re/insurance industry.
Solid understanding of life insurance products.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Comfort working with actuarial models, data, and profitability metrics.
Ability to learn complex products and deal structures quickly.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the life re/insurance industry with exposure to pricing or structuring is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform diligence on appraisal and other M&A process documents.
Support deal structuring to provide bespoke solutions for capital and risk optimization.
Run deal models to assess transaction opportunities in the block reinsurance space.
Develop pricing assumptions to provide appropriate views into the performance of the subject business.
Build AXIS models that produce product cash flows, such as UL, WL, and Term.
Run AXIS pricing model projections, analyze results, and summarize findings.
Challenge processes, accelerate timelines, and promote continuous innovation.
Present deals to Senior Management and secure approval.
