Manager, Actuarial - Medicare Dental
About The Position
CVS Health is seeking an Actuarial Manager for its Commercial and Medicare Dental business. The role provides actuarial reserving, experience review, forecasting, and pricing support. The manager leads Commercial Dental valuation decisions and financial performance reviews covering local markets nationwide; partners with Finance on monthly reserving, financial close, quarterly premium deficiency reserves, planning, and forecasting; and works with Market and Network teams on monthly experience reviews, experience studies, and Network Discount reviews for Medicare Dental and Commercial business. The role also provides actuarial pricing, analysis, and strategic support for the Medicare Advantage Bid process and serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for Dental-related issues with colleagues across AETNA and external consulting firms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 3 years of relevant healthcare experience.
- Strong technical, analytical, and financial skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), or demonstrated progress toward actuarial credentials.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Commercial pricing, rating system, or forecasting experience.
- Prior Dental and Vision experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead Commercial Dental valuation decisions and financial performance reviews covering local markets nationwide.
- Work independently and cross-functionally with Finance to complete the Commercial Dental monthly reserving process, monthly financial close, quarterly premium deficiency reserves, planning, and forecasting.
- Work independently and cross-functionally with Market and Network teams to complete monthly experience reviews, experience studies, and monthly Network Discount reviews for Medicare Dental and Commercial business.
- Provide actuarial pricing, analysis, and strategic support for the Medicare Advantage Bid process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for Dental-related issues with a wide audience, including AETNA peers and external consulting firms.
