The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level role designed to prepare participants for a Store Management position in 18–24 months. After successful completion of the initial eight-week training, participants may progress into an Assistant Store Manager position. The program provides training in customer service, sales, marketing, finance, and operations, with structured discussions to review objectives and development. Participants collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and contribute to the store’s development and strategy. They learn store operations, customer needs, and internal strategy, and help grow market share by selling products to commercial users, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers. They also build relationships in the community and support store employees’ development. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Duties involve customer contact, including possible contact with minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables. The company states that criminal-history review is necessary to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.
