The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level role designed to prepare participants for store management in 18–24 months. After successfully completing the initial eight weeks of training, participants may progress to an Assistant Store Manager position. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Participants collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and contribute leadership and insight to the store’s development and strategy. The program provides training in store operations, customer relationships, and internal strategy, as well as customer service, sales and marketing, finance, and operations. Participants sell to large commercial users, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other users requiring high-volume products. They also build relationships in the community to support business growth. The program includes structured support and formal discussions to review objectives and development. Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. The company states that it reviews criminal history to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.
