The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Internship is a paid, 10–12-week summer program providing hands-on experience in retail stores. Interns gain exposure to management, sales, store operations, and customer experience through business-to-business and retail work in a paint store. They learn about outside sales by traveling with a Sales Representative and spend structured time with the management team. Interns also work with peers and leadership on a project addressing critical business issues. Learning areas include sales, marketing and promotions, merchandising, customer relationship management, and business management. Successful interns are encouraged to apply to the Management & Sales Training Program (MTP). College graduates are not eligible for this internship and are encouraged to apply to MTP instead. The position involves contact with customers, potentially including minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables. A criminal history review is required to protect the business, its operations and reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public. This role requires customer-facing store support, including sales assistance, merchandising, inventory, point-of-sale transactions, product preparation, store maintenance, and delivery support. Interns participate in required training and follow store safety, HR, and loss prevention policies. They also collaborate with other interns on a team project addressing a business challenge or store initiative and present its outcomes. Candidates must be at least 18, authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future sponsorship, and enrolled in a college or university during the internship. They must be able to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. They must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends. A valid, unrestricted driver's license, at least one year of delivery, retail, or customer service experience, prior team-oriented experience, multilingual communication skills (including Spanish), and junior or senior standing are preferred. The posting describes a general range of benefits that eligible employees may receive and directs candidates to the company benefits site for details; it does not specify particular benefits for this internship. The hiring process consists of an online application, a digital behavioral interview for qualified candidates, and an in-person interview for top candidates.
