About The Position

Facilities Development and Management seeks a Management Analyst to administer, manage and evaluate all aspects of the server/system architecture to ensure optimal network reliability, security, data integrity and inter-operability with third party systems and applications. This position is based at ASU’s Tempe campus and may require working from other campuses depending on operational needs. The role involves identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing issues with FM energy information databases and sensor arrays, programming the ASU Energy Information System (EIS) to accept new or replacement energy meters, programming all data points into the EIS front end, and programming field level Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) devices, meters arrays and gateways. The analyst will also create reports, scripts, and stored procedures, maintain the reporting system and EIS meters, and assist faculty, staff, and students in gathering data from databases for research projects. Additionally, the role involves assisting in problem-solving related to system design, input/output requirements, and data processing/reporting, performing management analysis of energy use data, preparing reports, and recommending alternatives for enhancing operating efficiency. The analyst will also assist with the review and evaluation of energy metering hardware and software, and conduct research, including conferring with vendors, to resolve issues related to metering and data collection hardware and software, and advise users on the selection and use of energy use data and trends.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and one (1) year of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment.
  • Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39-month period from date of hire.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination post offer of employment to include audiogram, asbestos worker clearance, respiratory clearance questionnaire and respiratory fit test.
  • This position requires working a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule and may be called in for emergency response including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position is considered safety/security sensitive and will include a fingerprint check.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful passing of the fingerprint check.
  • Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the review and evaluation of energy metering hardware and software to determine its usefulness and appropriateness as related to existing or proposed university goals and operational needs
  • Assist with research, including conferring with vendors, to resolve questions and problems related to metering and data collection hardware and software and assist in consulting with and advising users in the selection and use of energy use data and trends
  • Use ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
