About The Position

The Management Analyst is a one-year term professional position within the Department of Innovation and High Performance designed to provide early-career professionals with meaningful experience in local government. This role supports analytical, research, and organizational improvement projects across the organization, while also assisting with initiatives related to project management, performance improvement, and strategic priorities. Working under general supervision, the Management Analyst conducts research, analyzes data, develops recommendations, prepares reports and presentations, and supports cross-departmental projects that advance operational effectiveness and high-performance government practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, organizational leadership, data analytics, political science, economics, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or candidate graduating within the current academic term.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, organizational leadership, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Internship, fellowship, capstone, or other applied experience in local government, public service, performance improvement, research, or data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, data analysis, and organizational assessments to identify trends, operational challenges, and opportunities to improve programs, services, and internal processes.
  • Analyze business processes and workflows; document findings; and develop recommendations to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
  • Support performance improvement, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives through project coordination, research, implementation support, and follow-up.
  • Assist in developing, tracking, and reporting performance measures, dashboards, key performance indicators, and other tools used to support decision-making and evaluate outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials, and recommendations that clearly communicate research, findings, and proposed solutions to staff and leadership.
  • Support the successful implementation of new platforms, systems, technologies, or process improvements through research, requirements gathering, testing, documentation, training support, and change management activities.
  • Collaborate with departments, project teams, and stakeholders to gather information, understand operational needs, and support cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct benchmarking and best-practice research related to local government operations, public-sector innovation, and organizational effectiveness, and provide recommendations for consideration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
