About The Position

The Managed Care Contracting Coordinator is responsible for managing the administrative components of payer contracting for Sagis pathologists. This role focuses on the preparation and submission of payer contract applications for new commercial insurance plans as well as the renewal of existing commercial and governmental contracts. The position is also responsible for tracking application status, following up with payers, and maintaining accurate records of all contracting activity. This is an entry-level position that reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Requirements

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in application preparation and data management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional correspondence with payer representatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow up persistently on outstanding items
  • Professional demeanor and ability to build relationships with external payer contacts
  • High school diploma required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare administrative role will be considered
  • Prior experience with managed care, payer enrollment, or healthcare contracting a plus but not required — we will train the right candidate
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance processes or provider enrollment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and submits contract applications to commercial payers for new provider enrollment and contract participation on behalf of Sagis pathologists.
  • Manages insurance rosters for new or departing pathologists.
  • Manages the renewal process for existing commercial and governmental payer contracts, ensuring timely submission prior to expiration dates.
  • Tracks the status of all pending applications and renewals, maintaining an organized and up-to-date log of all contracting activity.
  • Follows up proactively with commercial payers to ensure timely processing of submitted applications and resolves any outstanding requests for additional information.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in contract status, effective dates, and reimbursement updates to the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Maintains accurate and organized files for all payer contracts, correspondence, and related documentation.
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with key contacts at commercial payer organizations.
  • Assists in identifying new commercial managed care contracting opportunities for the physician group.
  • Ensures all provider information submitted to payers is current and accurate, coordinating with internal staff as needed.
  • Maintains managed care databases and payer directories.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
