About The Position

AMI is seeking a full-time, 36-hour per week Mammography / X-Ray Technologist to join their team in the Woolwich office location. This role offers a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient radiology practice. The technologist will be responsible for performing mammography and X-Ray examinations according to established technical standards, ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of patients, visitors, and co-workers. The position also involves becoming familiar with and ready to respond to emergency codes and life safety practices. Additionally, the technologist will perform other related duties to ensure optimum radiologic care, efficient patient flow, and safe office operation. This includes providing informal supervision and instructional advice to non-technical personnel and utilizing departmental clerical equipment, such as computerized information systems and copy machines, for accurate and timely record-keeping. While primarily based in Woolwich, occasional coverage may be required in Mullica Hill, Deptford, or Glassboro.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Mammography.
  • Hold a current Xray Technologist license in the State of NJ.
  • Full knowledge of all aspects concerning radiation protection.
  • Mammography Certified/experienced.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained prior to the start of employment and certification must require hands on instruction.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication, both in person and on the phone, with a focus on the patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mammography examinations according to the technical standards established by the radiology department.
  • Performs X-Ray examinations according to the technical standards established by the radiology department.
  • Utilizes instructional information and methods as established by the management.
  • According to office policy, provides for the safety, health and well-being of all patients, visitors and co-workers.
  • Becomes familiar with and ready to respond to emergency codes and life safety practices as established by the Practice.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned to ensure that optimum radiologic care, efficient and orderly flow of patients and safe, expedient office operation occurs daily.
  • Provides informal supervision and instructional advice to non-technical personnel assigned to the work area.
  • Utilizes all departmental clerical equipment including computerized information system, copy machines, etc., to ensure that all required office record keeping and documentation is accurate, timely and accessible.
