About The Position

The Mammography Lead Technologist is a critical technical leadership role at RadNet. The Lead role ensures that our Mammography Technologists produce consistent, quality imaging and meet all requirements deemed necessary by the ACR and FDA for accreditation and annual inspections. While, the Lead position reports to local practice leadership, they will also collaborate frequently with the Mammography Training Director to ensure that an image accountability program is in place at each RadNet practice. The Lead Technologist will use various tools, including; a Mammography Tracking System, RIS, PACS, and multiple types of Mammography equipment. This role will work directly with practice leadership to meet objectives and budget requirements. Excellent communication skills will be required to deliver practical guidance to Technologists and patients.

  • Promotes good public relations on the phone and in-person.
  • Adapts and is willing to learn new tasks, methods, and systems.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 pounds occasionally.
  • All employees are to assist and participate as members of a lift assistance team (for special accommodation patients or any patient requiring assistance onto a table or equipment placement) to initiate or complete an exam or procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with the Training Mammography Director to ensure that MQSA and ACR requirements, including quality assurance, clinical image quality, and quality control, are met throughout the region.
  • The primary focus of this role is to serve on the leadership team while working directly with Technologists within the practice.
  • Accountable for EQUIP (Enhancing Quality Using the Inspection Program) measures being performed and documented throughout the year, including: Technologist Image Review, Quality Image Reviews, Technical Repeat Reviews, Technical Repeat Review and documentation of RadNet/FDA EQUIP program, Radiologist Image Review/Peer Review measures, and Radiologist Image Reviews.
  • Documentation and review of corrective action plans.
  • Ensure that all new Mammography Technologists are onboarded and trained appropriately on patient questionaries, the use of state-of-the-art mammography and biopsy equipment, and patient positioning techniques.
  • Collaborate with leadership and the Training Director, providing insights and feedback that will help these departments attract and retain the most talented candidates to fill critical mammography technologist positions.
  • Ensure that all daily/weekly/monthly QC is completed on time and within RadNet standards, policy, and procedure. This also includes meeting equipment recommendations and standards.
  • Run Medical Audit reports on a quarterly basis and sharing details with the Lead Interpreting Physician (LIP) of the practice. Work with the LIP to ensure there are signatures on site-specific reports that can be placed in site MQSA report binders for inspection review.
  • Collaborates with technologists to develop efficiency standards for workflow that ensure each imaging center meets or exceeds productivity measures and daily volume expectations. This includes working directly with the practice leadership to review of room schedules and open capacity when appropriate.
  • Maintain state licensure and ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography to stay within good standing.
  • Provide regular feedback to the RadNet leadership team with suggestions on how to enhance the mammography program.
  • Travel to RadNet sites within the practice subsidiary to assess overall training and support needs for Mammography Technologists.
  • Represent and communicate the unique vision and value of the RadNet Mammography program with its high-quality standards and advanced technology to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote the organization’s culture, mission, vision, and values across the entire region to all stakeholders.
  • The lead will be responsible for imaging patients on occasion.
