Schedules appointments for patients by telephone or in person. This role assists in record keeping in accordance with MQSA, works to maintain the sharing and importing of mammography studies into PACS, and schedules appointments, entering them into a computerized system. The specialist coordinates with physicians, nurses, and technologists to expedite patient care, manages exam orders, and provides patients with necessary instructions. They also coordinate biopsies, notify relevant departments of add-on exams, and greet patients and visitors. The role requires managing multiple software applications simultaneously, gathering statistics, ordering supplies, and utilizing appropriate patient identifiers. Additionally, the specialist may assist with other medical office needs, work on committees and projects as assigned, and assist management with various tasks. Patient registration for imaging patients is also a key responsibility, ensuring office equipment is maintained and functioning properly, and adhering to scheduling policies and procedures.
