About The Position

San Poil Treatment Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Male Residential Technician to provide direct support and supervision to clients receiving residential substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment services. The Residential Technician plays a vital role in promoting a safe, structured, and supportive environment that fosters recovery and personal growth. This position assists clients with daily activities, monitors client safety and well-being, facilitates recreational and educational activities, and supports the delivery of client care under the direction of clinical, nursing, and medical staff. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and committed to helping individuals on their recovery journey. This position is designated as male to meet client privacy and supervision needs within a residential treatment setting, consistent with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months relevant experience in the areas of addictions and mental health and/or willingness to learn necessary knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients.
  • Ability to document accurately and objectively.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform facility rounds and monitor multiple client areas.
  • Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout overnight shifts.

  • If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.
  • If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor clients during overnight hours to ensure safety, security, and compliance with program expectations.
  • Conduct routine facility and room checks according to program policies.
  • Assist clients with daily schedules, routines, and program participation.
  • Provide support and encouragement to clients throughout their recovery process.
  • Facilitate and supervise educational, recreational, and wellness activities as assigned.
  • Assist with client admissions, orientations, and discharges.
  • Transport or accompany clients to appointments, examinations, treatments, or approved activities when necessary.
  • Observe and document client behaviors, activities, and significant events.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and crisis situations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and shift reports.
  • Support a therapeutic and respectful treatment environment.
  • Enforce program rules, safety procedures, and facility policies consistently and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical, nursing, and medical staff regarding client needs and concerns.
  • Perform housekeeping, laundry, meal service assistance, and other program support duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
