About The Position

The Makeup Artist is responsible for enhancing the natural beauty of our clients through creative and professional makeup application. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of makeup techniques for various occasions, from everyday wear to special events, and will be skilled in working with different skin tones and types. Responsibilities include consulting with clients, applying makeup, recommending skincare and beauty products, and staying updated on the latest makeup trends. Excellent communication skills and a passion for the beauty industry are essential for this role. Position available for on-call special events and/or routinely scheduled shifts. All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resort policies, practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion of 260 hours in makeup courses at accredited Cosmetology school or 260 hours of training at a licensed school to obtain a Facial Specialist License.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Makeup Artist.
  • Previous experience working in a similar hotel, resort or luxury nail spa setting.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
  • Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Candidates will need to be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their makeup preferences and needs for various events or occasions.
  • Apply makeup using a range of techniques to enhance facial features, ensuring a flawless finish.
  • Match and blend foundation, concealers, and other products to suit various skin tones and types.
  • Provide skincare and makeup product recommendations based on client needs and skin condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following hygiene and safety standards.
  • Keep up to date with the latest makeup trends, techniques, and products.
  • Collaborate with photographers, hairstylists, and fashion stylists when necessary.
  • Manage time effectively to accommodate multiple clients or event schedules.
  • Educate clients on proper makeup application techniques for at-home use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the department.
