The University of Wyoming's Coe Student Innovation Center (CSIC) is seeking enthusiastic, creative student innovators to help run its makerspace lab and support day-to-day operations. This part-time position involves demonstrating creative problem-solving, learning and utilizing non-traditional tools, and maintaining a positive attitude. The role requires an interest in or experience with makerspace hardware, software, and fabrication, including monitoring and maintaining CSIC hardware and software for optimal performance. The Makerspace Aide will also be involved in formulating and implementing policies and procedures for equipment maintenance, interacting positively with a diverse population, and serving as a CSIC ambassador. Responsibilities include answering questions, assisting users with 3D designs, providing troubleshooting, and promoting CSIC resources. The position may also involve providing small group instruction, orientations, workshops, and tutorials, including creating teaching materials. Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills are necessary, with experience in media communication being a plus. The Makerspace Aide will attend staff meetings and training sessions to achieve CSIC objectives and enhance professional growth. The role focuses on makerspace upkeep, programming, visitor engagement, and fabrication of various projects, with an emphasis on STEAM education, outreach, and active participation as a "Maker". The Aide will collaborate effectively with other departments across UW to meet CSIC expectations and goals.
