About The Position
The Tipton Group is hiring a Make Ready/Porter to join its apartment maintenance team in Mid-Cities, Texas. The role helps prepare apartment homes for new residents and supports the overall upkeep and appearance of the community. The Make Ready/Porter works alongside the maintenance team and collaborates with property management to provide service to residents. The position includes apartment turnovers, painting and repairs, basic maintenance across several building systems, vacant-unit inspections, grounds upkeep, and participation in the property's on-call rotation. Requirements
- At least 1 year of make-ready, groundskeeping, apartment maintenance, or similar experience.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to provide and use your own basic tools.
- Professional and courteous when interacting with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Complete apartment turnovers and make-readies for new residents.
- Perform painting, touch-ups, and general repairs.
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect vacant units and help ensure apartments are move-in ready.
- Assist with grounds upkeep, including trash pickup and light landscaping.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the property.
- Respond to maintenance needs as part of the property's on-call rotation.
- Work closely with maintenance and property management teams to provide excellent service to residents.
