About The Position

The mission of Community Action Lehigh Valley is to improve the quality of life in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas by building communities in which all people have access to economic opportunity, the ability to pursue that opportunity, and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. As Major Gifts Officer, you’ll help fuel Community Action Lehigh Valley’s work by growing a strong major-gifts program across CALV and Second Harvest Food Bank. You’ll partner closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and leaders across the agency to connect donors with the outcomes they care about.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3–5 years in fundraising/development, relationship management, sales, or related work
• Strong communication, organization, discretion, and collaboration skills
• Comfort with CRM/donor databases and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a major-gift portfolio using tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans
• Lead donor visits, tours, proposals, briefings, and thoughtful follow-up
• Strengthen the prospect pipeline (including emerging major donors) and support campaigns, recognition, and agency-wide fundraising priorities
• Advance planned/legacy giving conversations and track commitments
• Maintain clean, timely DonorPerfect records and report on progress
